Women in Red for Heart Health

Friday, November 16, 2007
6 p.m. — 11 p.m.

Admission: $25

Heart disease is the number one killer of women. Join us to crop and raise awareness and money for women’s heart health.

There will be games and prizes, make and takes, contests, door prizes, free health education, free health screenings and fun! Bring yourself or bring a group but let’s get together to celebrate our hearts!

All proceeds raised will benefit Premier Community Health, who is dedicated to women’s heart health. PCH offers cholesterol, blood sugar, HDL (or good cholesterol), blood pressure screenings and lipid profiles to the community through our Heart Risk Reduction Program to promote prevention, early detection and disease self management of heart health.

In 2006, Premier Community Health provided 12,454 screenings through our Heart Risk Reduction Program.

Pretty in Pink for Breast Cancer

Saturday, November 17, 2007
5 p.m. — 11 p.m.

Admission: $25

It is estimated that over 178,000 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in 2007.

Let’s all join together for games and prizes, contests, make and takes, door prizes, free health education & fun as we raise money for mammograms for uninsured or underinsured women.

All proceeds raised will benefit Premier Community Health, who is dedicated to the prevention, early detection and self management of breast cancer. Premier Community Health is the only mobile mammography unit in the Greater Dayton area that serves uninsured or underinsured women. PCH is also the site for the Breast and Cervical Cancer Project (BCCP). The Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Project is a federally funded program that offers Pap tests and mammograms to low income, uninsured women.

In 2006, through the Portable Mammography Program and the Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Project, 3,596 services or screenings were provided, of which 1,650 were mammograms.
